The Brigid Stewart Scholarship was set up in 2004 in memory of Mrs
Brigid Stewart, in recognition of her contribution towards Community
Nursing. Mrs Stewart as an experienced manager of health care delivery
within community settings also had a passionate belief in the value
of nurses in all settings and was totally committed to the development
of nursing. The QNIS was looking forward to her input as Nursing Director
on behalf of community nursing but sadly her life was tragically cut
short by cancer from which she died in April 2003.
