PiPS - Partnership in Practice Awards Scotland
 


THE AWARD
The Partnership in Practice Awards Scotland (PiPS) is designed to acknowledge nurses involved in innovative partnership working with other disciplines, voluntary sector, social services, patient groups or the community. The Award is presented at the QNIS Annual Award Ceremony in November. Three Awards of £2000 each are
given to enable nurses to develop new services for patients.


WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY
A nurse with NMC registration and a special community qualification such as:

  • Community Nursing in the Home – District Nursing
  • Community Children’s Nursing
  • Public Health Nursing – Health Visiting and School Nursing
  • Community Learning Disability Nursing
  • Community Mental Health Nursing
  • General Practice Nursing – Primary Care Nursing
  • Midwifery
  • Occupational Health Nursing
  • Family Health Nursing


HOW TO APPLY

Applications must be endorsed by all the ‘partners’ involved and be submitted by 30th June. A short, up to 300 words, typed description of the partnership working, on a single side of A4, should accompany the application and include:

  • the aims and objectives of the partnership working
  • outcomes for patient/client care
  • proposed budget
  • evidence of working with another discipline or organisation
  • evidence of the partnership having existed for 6 months or more
  • explanation of why the partnership is innovative

The applicant should state how the money will be used to develop partnership working, whether through further education, conference presentation, publication or a study tour. Successful applicants will be asked to submit a short report after six months on how the award is being used.
