Are you a change maker, making a real difference to people’s health and wellbeing? Do you know someone who is? Are you passionate about social justice, looking to amplify the nursing voice in addressing the social determinants of health? The Queen’s Nurse title is awarded each year to 20 nursing and midwifery pioneers who complete a nine-month ‘journey of discovery’.
Nominations for 2021 are now being invited from health boards and other employers. We have asked for nominations by email by noon 14th September 2020.
The closing date for candidate applications has been extended to Monday 14th December 2020 at midday.

We are inviting nominations from NHS Boards, third and independent sector employers. Each candidate must be nominated by their Executive Nurse Director (or equivalent). If you have had discussions about being nominated, you may find the following guidance helpful in considering whether this is an opportunity which would interest you:
Before you embark upon completing the application form please ensure that you have been nominated by your employer and that they have informed QNIS by email so we can support you. The application form requires a great deal of thought. Please allow a few weeks to complete it and leave time to ask others to read it and give you feedback. It is designed to be an enjoyable process as you reflect on your personal and professional journey.
Please find below the application form to be completed by the candidate, and the organisational support form to be completed by the sponsoring line manager and signed off at executive level.
Both forms should be returned by midday on Monday 26th October 2020.
