Retiral of Dr Julia Quickfall
QNIS Nurse Director 2003 – 2014
Over the past ten years, Julia has successfully directed The Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland through many changes, challenges and jubilant successes.
Through her hard work, dedication and passion for nursing, Julia raised the profile of Community Nursing and the QNIS within Scotland. She helped influence the direction of national policy and recognised the need for modernisation and integration to enable the delivery of excellent patient care.
Julia also played a key role in the modernisation of the QNIS, as she improved structures and governance ensuring that the organisation was fit for modern purpose. She provided strategic leadership and helped developed key new work streams such as the Fellowship Assessment Programme, the 2013 ICCHNR conference and the current funding from the Burdett Trust.
We would like to wish Julia well and to thank her for her commitment and unfaltering leadership over the past ten years, and for teaching us not to throw the baby out with the bath water!
