We are bitterly disappointed to miss the opportunity of gathering, however, in the light of the Scottish Government guidance to NHS staff around Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have taken the decision to cancel the QNIS Conference scheduled for 1st April. We had been greatly looking forward to hearing from a diverse group of leaders and influencers, to celebrate the roles of Scotland’s community nurses in this, the year of the nurse and the midwife. However, under the circumstances, we are keen to enable everyone to fully engage in assuring the best possible care across the country.
Nurses and midwives make up the largest numbers of Scotland’s health and care workforce. As community practitioners you are a diverse and highly skilled group of professionals. We are confident that your response to the current pandemic will demonstrate your commitment and expert clinical care, pulling together with colleagues across sectors.
QNIS will continue to update you with news and stories on our website. We have asked our excellent speakers to share their presentations in video or blog format and we will post them online in due course. The team will be emailing you shortly about refunds or rebooking.
We are in unprecedented times. Remember the instruction for the aircraft oxygen mask; it is essential to put your own on before helping others. Please be serious about taking good care of yourselves.
If there is anything that you feel we could be doing in the coming weeks to support you, please let us know.
On behalf of the staff and trustees of QNIS.
