QNIS has supported calls from the Deep End GP Group for a reversal of the decision to close a specialist GP service for the homeless in Glasgow.
People experiencing homelessness generally have very complex health and social care needs, which require time, expertise and high-level cross-sectoral working to support them during this time in their lives. Specialist services are invaluable, providing accessible care that meets the needs of this population.
We share the Deep End Group’s concerns about the impact of this decision on such a vulnerable group of people, many of whom face the most extreme consequences of poverty and adversity.
It is vital that high quality specialist clinical care continues to be provided to people experiencing homelessness in Glasgow.
