The Queen’s Nurse Programme looks for change makers, those community nurses and midwives making a real difference to people’s health and wellbeing. We want to hear from those who are passionate about social justice, and looking to amplify the nursing voice in addressing the social determinants of health. The Queen’s Nurse title is awarded each year to around 20 nursing and midwifery pioneers who complete a nine-month ‘journey of discovery’.

When applications are open we invite nominations from NHS Boards, third and independent sector employers. Each candidate must be nominated by their Executive Nurse Director (or equivalent) before submitting and application form.
