Caroline Lilley
Nurse Team Lead
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde
What are the skills/expertise you need to work as a Nurse Team Lead?
A Nurse Team Lead has clearly defined responsibilities despite which, no two days are the same. To be effective, the role requires the ability to attune both interpersonal and technical skills to each presenting individual and situation as well as having the critical awareness and foresight to influence and protect their service. My role places me in the unique position of being the link between strategy and reality which is optimal for understanding how to drive change.
I view my role as being a protector of District Nursing and its service users. Tenacity and resilience are key to providing leadership that is unwavering in its standards and values, underpinned by emotional intelligence. Above all, you must be passionate and proud of your profession.
