What inspired you to work in the community?
I knew very quickly into the nursing degree that I wanted to work in the community. I’m interested in preventing and reducing the impact of trauma on the mental and physical health of people throughout their lives through early and skilled nursing interventions.
Community nursing is where this happens best.
I love the continuity of care we can offer – getting to know people, who they are, what matters to them and what keeps them well. Connecting with people and being alongside them through some of the most profound moments of their lives is a privilege and gives me a strong sense of purpose both professionally and personally.
There is no greater privilege than to be alongside people during some of the most profound and vulnerable moments of their lives.
