In what way has the Queen’s Nurse programme made a difference to how you practice?
I feel very privileged to be a Queen’s Nurse. The programme encouraged me out of my comfort zone, challenged my thinking and supported me to really begin to understand my core values and how they impact and influence my practice. It equipped me with the confidence and self-belief to challenge my own imposter syndrome and furnished me with the tools to lead, empower and support my colleagues with their own well-being and development. I also have a much better focus and understanding of my own well-being and self-care needs. My current role is in professional leadership and the programme really helped me to prepare for this and to incorporate “being the change I want to see” into my every day practice.
