Health Visitor and Team Lead

What skills and expertise are needed to be a Health Visitor and Team lead?
It is important first and foremost to see things from the heart and not the eyes. It is vital to be kind and compassionate with children, their families and team members alike. This builds confidence, self-efficacy and empowers people to positively manage their health and wellbeing. In turn allowing them to look after themselves and others.
Understanding and action without judgement is key and enabling others to flourish is at the root of all community nursing. Realistically this can involve exposure to and management of risk and trauma. The ability to manage potential conflict or difficult conversations has to be underpinned by compassion and empathy and a commitment to do the right thing for that person. To be truly person-centred.
Be the best you can be, and with kindness and compassion facilitate and support others to do the same.
