Retirement of Anne Jarvie, Chair of Council

26th June 2014

DSC_8468sThe Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland has been privileged to have had Anne Jarvie serving as Chair of Council since 2010. During this time, she has been a great ambassador for our work, has championed many of our achievements, and spearheaded a review of our strategy and activity.

Anne has had an illustrious career as a nurse leader; making a huge difference to the profession as Chief Nursing Officer for Scotland.  In recognition of her work she was awarded a CBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List in 2000.

At our 2014 Annual Gathering, she was awarded an honorary fellowship in recognition of her four years as our Chair of Council. We are truly grateful to Anne for her wisdom, integrity and the expert guidance we have received from her during this time.

This leaves us with an exciting vacancy as we look to recruit a new Chair of Council. If this is a role in which you might be interested, please take a look at the vacancies page on our website.
