Are you a change maker, making a real difference to people’s health and wellbeing?
Do you know someone who is? Are you passionate about social justice, looking to amplify the nursing voice in addressing the social determinants of health?
The Queen’s Nurse title is awarded each year to 20 nursing and midwifery pioneers who complete a nine month ‘journey of discovery’.
Nominations for 2024 are now being invited from health boards and other employers.
The programme is open to any community-based nurse or midwife with a clinical case load. We invite nominations from each health board, those who employers feel would benefit most from the programme. For 2024, we are keen to open opportunities for those who are currently underrepresented, and some priority places will be given to applicants who are:
- from black and ethnic minority communities
- young nurse leaders
- men in community nursing
- from social care nursing
We are working to profile nursing’s role in social justice, so we would welcome applications from those working in areas of deprivation or in roles such as care home liaison, homeless outreach, addictions, working with children with complex needs, sexual health, and criminal justice nursing.
If you meet any of the above criteria, please have a conversation with your line manager about nomination. The closing date for receipt of nominations is 4th October 2023 at noon.
