Are you a changemaker, making a real difference to people’s health and wellbeing? Do you know someone who is? Are you passionate about addressing inequalities, looking to amplify the nursing voice in addressing the social determinants of health?
Each year, the Queen’s Nurse title is awarded to 20 nursing and midwifery pioneers who complete a nine-month ‘journey of discovery’.
Who can apply
Nominations for 2025 are now being invited from health boards and other employers.
The programme is open to any community-based nurse or midwife who is directly involved in care. For 2025, we are keen to open opportunities for those who are currently underrepresented, and encourage applications from Black People and People of Colour (BPoC).
We are working to profile nursing’s role in social justice, so we would also welcome applications from those working in areas of deprivation or in roles such as homeless outreach, addictions, working with children with complex needs, sexual health, social care and criminal justice nursing.
