Capacitar International exists to enable healing ourselves and healing our world. At a time when we have all been affected by the collective trauma of the pandemic, now more than ever we need to be attentive to our own wellbeing and to support those around us. You can find examples of Capacitar practices on the QNIS wellbeing page.
We have been fortunate to receive money from the Workforce Wellbeing Fund for Adult Social Care to enable 24 nurses who work in social care to undertake the Capacitar training to support recovery and resilience in the workplace. The purpose of the fund is to benefit staff working in adult social work or social care services. This means we are unable to accept applications from anyone employed by health services. The opportunity is for registered nurses who work in care homes or care at home providers who are registered by the Care Inspectorate
The training takes place over four sessions between October 2022 and April 2023 on the following dates:
- 4 – 5 October 2022
- 29 – 30 November 2022
- 7 – 8 February 2023
- 25 – 27 April 2023 (in-person)
The first three modules will be online and then it is planned that the final workshop will happen in person. The full cost of the course is being met by the Workforce Wellbeing Fund for Adult Social Care so we can offer the training for free.
Here are a couple of quotes from those currently enjoying the training:
“Capacitar practices give me a toolkit to cope with stress at work, and the tai chi movements energise me and make me feel better about life.”
“I have practiced chakra Tai Chi daily since February 2021 and I can really feel the benefit. Having this new positive energy allows me to pass it on and empower others and it has been such a gift to me.”
The application form is below and asks for the support of your manager as the intention is that you use the practices to support the recovery and resilience of your team. You will be invited to share a brief report of your learning with us to report back to Workforce Wellbeing Fund for Adult Social Care on the impact of the training for you and your team.
If there are more than 24 applications, we will select by ensuring geographical spread and we will look at the statements of how you would hope to use the opportunity.
The closing date is 0930 on 21st September 2022.
Send your applications by email to Amanda Regan (amanda.regan@qnis.org.uk)
This is a great opportunity to support your own healing and recovery as well as supporting your team.
