In what way has the Queen’s Nurse programme made a difference to how you practice?
Prior to commencing the Queen’s nurse development programme I found myself struggling to speak up and to have my voice heard. I was doubting my years of experience and knowledge and felt that the hierarchy must know best. Through coaching and the activities built into the programme I have found my voice again. I do have lots to contribute and my experience of working with vulnerable children and families is a valuable insight into what is going on in our communities. The programme has allowed me look at the health needs of our society and to commence some early intervention work to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
