Associate Lead Nurse for Mental Health
NHS Highland
What difference do you hope to have on the health and wellbeing of those you care for?
Mental recovery is only real and meaningful when it is solid and sustained at home, within one’s own community. Mental health hospitals are often foremost in most people’s minds when they think of mental illness. However, in reality it is often the quiet, unsung, powerful work of community mental health nurses that prevents people from needing hospital, or gets them home quickly from a hospital stay. We community nurses walk the road of recovery with people at home in their real lives.
I am passionate about this work. My job is to nurture the nurses that quietly do this day in and day out, across our Highland communities.
Time and time again people recover using their own strength – with quiet guidance and support from a Community Mental Health Nurse
