I am positively stunned and so very pleased at being awarded the QNIS Postgraduate Community Nursing Prize. Having practised as a School Nurse for many years prior to completing the SCPHN School Nurse course I initially felt apprehensive about returning to study at Masters Level especially now that I have my 4 beautiful, little girls in the mix. However, with the love, encouragement and support of my amazing Hubby, Mum, Dad and Sister, I went for it and I am so happy I did. My girls were my motivation to study to show that with determination and hard work you can achieve your aspirations.
The knowledge, understanding and networking I have gained from my academic studies have been invaluable for me as a practitioner, although there were times involving tears, perspiration and anxiety, my studies were so worth it and to have my hard work acknowledged with this QNIS prize is so very humbling, I feel extremely honoured and motivated to continue to learn and develop as a practitioner.
