An event in Inverness has been held to bring together retired Queen’s Nurses and other former community nurses.
The group of around 40 women attended the afternoon tea to catch up and hear the latest news about what is happening at QNIS.
It was a perfect opportunity to introduce the retired Queen’s Nurses to new Network Co-ordinator Chloe Beetge, who took up her post in August.
Event organiser Angela MacDonald arranged for a delicious cake to be presented to Chloe and travelling companion Karrie – Communications Officer at QNIS.
The group also heard from Michelle Duffy – one of the current Queen’s Nurse candidates.
Michelle is an advanced practice respiratory nurse with NHS Highland.
The retired nurses were able to hear about Michelle’s work caring for people in communities in remote areas from Caithness and Sutherland to Rosshire.
There was a also a display of historical items from uniforms and badges to certificates and medicine bottles to look at. It proved a popular talking point for those attending.
